Cleveland Browns Rookie Myles Garrett In Concussion Protocol
The Cleveland Browns organization announced Wednesday that rookie defensive lineman Myles Garrett has been placed into the NFL’s concussion protocol.
The first overall pick of the 2017 NFL Draft appeared healthy during Sunday’s matchup against the Tennessee Titans, but Garrett was reported to have begun feeling concussion symptoms on Tuesday. You might remember that this is not Garrett’s first injury of the year, as he suffered a high ankle sprain that caused him to miss the first four games of the season.
Despite injuries, Garrett leads his team with four sacks this season. Though the Cleveland Browns lost to the Tennessee Titans 12-9 on Sunday, Garrett still made a lasting impression on left tackle Taylor Lewan.
"I told (Garrett) after the game that he was going to be a hell of a player," stated Lewan.
The 0-7 Browns are set to head to London this week to play the Vikings, which makes the timing of the pass-rusher’s ailment less than ideal. A spokesperson for the team stated that Garrett has not been completely ruled out for Sunday’s game, and he may be able to travel with the team.
